shelter 01.

This party is a benefit for "Shelter 01" art project by Dusan Rodic.

"Shelter 01". is a 6m in diameter, 4 m. high and 20.000 kg, earth dome with a fire place in it's middle and vegetable garden around it.

Primal human or let's say animal need is finding food and shelter. This artwork is providing these two elements. The earth dome stands in contrast to high style buildings, formal monuments designed to display the power and taste of the elite.

Mud vs. money

Industrial ideology transforms simplicity into poverty, It redefins an absence of industrial tools and toys as lack of them. Poverty depends less on what we have, than on our attitude toward what we want. The modern economy’s motto “the more you have the happier you are” has come to it's braking point. We have to stop reading modesty as poverty, simple and traditional as underdeveloped. They say that the industrialized world’s most influential lesson has been to teach traditional world how to want. Our economy turns people into consumers by convincing them that they have needs that only industrial goods and services can satisfy. This dome is build in free vernacular building tradition and out of earth; it stands for simplicity and self-sufficiency.
