Rietveld UnCut
Rietveld UnCut is in addition to the Open Day and the Graduation Show another major occasion on which the academy presents itself to the outside world in all its many facets. Rietveld UnCut is unlike any other Rietveld event. Rietveld UnCut seeks genuine interaction with the audience.

The Living Object
On Friday 11 and Saturday 12 November 2011 the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the Flemish Arts Centre De Brakke Grond are holding the third edition of Rietveld Uncut. Supervised by the inspirational Flemish theatre-maker and artist Kris Verdonck (born 1974), Rietveld Uncut shows a cross-section of work from the entire academy.
Within the theme provided by Verdonck, ‘The living Object’, Rietveld Uncut explores among other things the relationship between man and object and the influence of material on the artist. How do the possibilities and limitations of materials lead to new dimensions? What does this say about the inspiration of an artist? Rietveld Uncut shows the dynamic work process of all the degree programmes at the Rietveld Academie. In addition to this, Rietveld Uncut seeks interaction with the public. It presents the artists of the future, with experimental projects that are created right in front of the audience.
On Saturday 12 November visitors can take part in guided tours through Rietveld Uncut.
