Rietveld Online

Rietveld Online, a ‘distant learning system’, is a preparatory course for the entrance exams to the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Bachelor programmes. Instead of going to the Academie for classes, you can follow them online on your computer. You can work at home and communicate with the lecturers, post your work and comment fellow student’s work. This is ideal system if you want to prepare for the entrance exams but cannot come to Amsterdam for classes.

You will learn how to carry out assignments independently and reflect on your work together with lecturers and fellow students in writing and visually. You will follow lessons in visual arts and design and participate in media projects. In the theory module you will study sources that are made available via the Distant Learning system. Some assignments will require you to carry out research. You will also be referred to the websites of international events and exhibitions. The lecturers are professional artists and designers who work at various departments of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.

Duration:10 weeks.
Costs: 750 euro’s
Start next course: February 12, 2010
