Library

The library is for the use of students and staff of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and the Sandberg Institute. It is located on the ground floor of the new building.

The purpose of the book collection is to have basic information on fine arts and design “within reach”. The library aims to provide up-to-date information on art through magazines and catalogues.

There are approx. 8,000 titles in an open set-up, which you can browse at your leisure. You can also search for specific subjects by keyword in the catalogue computer. The categories include: philosophy, art history and various visual arts and design disciplines, including photography, architecture, applied arts, and artists’ studies.

The library has a reading table and eight workstations for students. There is a catalogue computer that can be used to look up items in the collection. Four computers provide access to the student network and the Internet. Wi-Fi access is also provided so you can use your own laptop.
