[S]Elected Gerrit Rietveld Academie Awards Show at Castrum Peregrini, Amsterdam
In [S]ELECTED all the nominees for the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Awards 2012 are being shown to the public. During the Rietveld Graduation Exhibition last July, a professional external jury made a selection from the latest crop of artists and designers graduating from the academy in Amsterdam. [S]ELECTED displays contemporary and multidisciplinary work. For example, experimental meta-cinema goes hand in hand with a clothing design that uses bluff as handicraft, and an object comparable to Lady Gaga’s footwear, in which aesthetics, ergonomics and prosthesis merge in a bizarre choreography.
